Submission Format

References

Please very carefully check all references - the most frequent reason for delays in publication of papers is revision to correct incorrect references, or mismatched citations versus the reference list.

References in the text should be with the author's last name and year of publication in parentheses (Peters, 1996). Two authors should be included in the text as follows: (Peters & Smith, 1996) and three or more authors as (Peters et al., 1996). A list of references should follow the article with references listed alphabetically as follows: surname, initials, date, article or chapter title (if appropriate), book or journal title, volume and issue (for journals), page numbers (for journals or book chapters), publisher, place of publication and edition (for books).

Example:

  1. Peters, V.J. (1996), Electronic Peer Review, Internet Research, 6(1), 163-170.
  2. Peters, V.J., Smith, P.A.C. (1996), KM Review, Learning Journal, 20(2), 65-70.
  3. Peters, V.J., Smith, P.A.C., Sharma, M. (1996), KM Leadership, Web Quarterly; Accessed July 2007: www.webq.com/index/misc.
  4. Peters, V.J. (1996), The Beginner's Guide to Electronic Peer Review, MCB University Press, Bradford, UK, 1st Edn.

Charts, Diagrams and Figures

These should be called Figures, numbered consecutively (Figure 1, Figure 2 etc.), with a brief title. Indicate where in the text you wish the figure to appear (e.g. Fig 1 about here). Submitting each figure independently as a .jpg file will ensure the final integrity of the figure.

Tables

Tables should be numbered consecutively and independently of Figures. Indicate in the text where you wish them to appear. Give them a brief title. Please ensure they are clear and legible.

Refereeing Procedure

J. Knowledge Management Practice is a refereed journal. That means that articles submitted for publication will be read and commented on by one or more reviewers as well as the Managing Editor. Authors will be advised (normally within three to four months) that their article has been accepted as is, needs revision (guidelines will be given), or cannot be accepted for publication.
