Peter Ainley-Walker

Peter is an Organisation Development and Change professional with over 25 years experience as a senior leader, advisor and consultant.  He leads AW Organisation Development Consulting Ltd, a consultancy focused on improving the effectiveness of individuals, teams and organisations.  

Peter’s career has embraced senior corporate leadership and consulting roles with organisations including British Telecom, the Royal Bank of Scotland, PricewaterhouseCoopers and IBM. He has worked across a wide variety of sectors including Telecoms, Manufacturing, Retail, FMCG, Financial Services and the Public Sector.

Peter’s primary focus is working with senior leaders and their teams to improve performance by identifying organisational change needs and opportunities, and designing effective, systemic solutions.  His expertise and experience enable him to rapidly identify “what is going on” in an organisation, to identify the root causes underlying presenting symptoms and to design solutions that have an impact.

His expertise includes Organisation Design, Culture Change, Team Effectiveness, Employee Engagement, Leadership Development, Talent Management and Change Implementation.  His approach is always founded on good diagnosis – ensuring that solutions are appropriate and effective in the long-term.

Among positions held, Peter has been Head of Organisational Effectiveness & Learning at RBS, Director of Organisational Efficiency & Effectiveness for Openreach, Head of Organisation Development for BT Global Services and a Managing Consultant with IBM and PwC.  He spent the first 15 years of his career with ICI after achieving a BSc BEng (First Class) Honours Degree in Engineering & Management from Manchester University.  Peter is an experienced Line Manager, Facilitator, Coach, Mentor and Speaker.
